We’re so glad you asked.

We take the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 personally: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations...” That’s why we’re planting City of Refuge—to make disciples who make disciples and to establish a church that will, in time, plant other churches.

This area has easy access and is minutes away from about 193,000 people, many of whom do not yet know Jesus. The area is growing rapidly with new homes, businesses, and factories—bringing even more people who need to hear the Gospel.

Both Tacia and I grew up in this region. We know this community. We know its people—and we know the deep spiritual need here. Like Nehemiah returning to rebuild Jerusalem, we feel a strong responsibility to return to the place of our roots and share the hope of Jesus—a true refuge for the soul.

The simple answer? God told us to.
After years of praying and seeking His timing, it’s become clear that now is the moment to step out in faith and bring the vision God gave us years ago to life.
